What happens when two foreigners put on skirts and heels for a night on the town Saturday night:

1. mistaken for prostitutes? Creepy cars with creepy guys slow creepily down and try to pick us up...

2. crazy drunken guys buy us food and talk a hundred miles an hour, assuming we actually understand what the hell they're saying

3. have a damn good time despite the early curfew created by the 10pm final bus back to the university

...i think this may become a regular monthly outing if it stays this much fun...maybe if we wear shorter skirts and higher heels we can get some free drinks too!! woot!

I just finished my last week of JSL classes for this semester. As for my 'Gender and Society' class, we won't meet until we give our final presentations on the 1st and 3rd. I'm doing mine over the nature of eclectic feminism in terms of interrelating factors of oppression, basing most of my speech off of the awe-inspiring bell hooks and her book 'Feminist Theory: From Margin to Center,' second edition. In related news, Ball State is going through their vagina and vagina-related appreciation week, and i'm missing it. i'm so ticked. the Vagina Monologues was cancelled last year, and this year they're presenting it thrice. I really REALLY wanted a vagina warrior t-shirt, too. On top of this, my local hero, Maude Jennings, beloved professor of EVERYTHING at BSU, is having a brown-bag lunch discussion about the position of minorities in feminism. and i'm missing it.  FUCK! ASS!

Speaking of vaginas, fucking, etc. (although i really hadn't mentioned fucking, but rather used the word explicitly to illustrate my frustration while vaguely alluding to a favorite movie)... Valentine's Day has come and gone in Japan. I got more chocolate and valentine's stuff than ever since maybe gradeschool - you know, when everyone had to make valentine's for everyone so that no one would have to suffer rejection and neglect until their assuredly painful adolescence. Anyway, the important thing here is that there's all sorts of love goin' on between me and my female friends, and from me to my male friends. Come March 14th,  I don't actually anticipate getting chocolates or anything of the like from the boys i know, but i was pleasantly surprised at the generosity of my female friends this week.

Anyway, in light of my somewhat freedom from class, here are some lovely pictures of me with my adorable teachers! yay!

this one is Inaba-sensei. She looks all sweet and normal here, but don't let that fool you! She's actually crazy! You should see the look in her eyes when she's really excited about something...I imagine if Abby was 40-something and Japanese, she'd be something like Inaba-sensei. Rock on, Inaba-sensei!

This is Makino-sensei. Cute, isn't she! I hope to some day go to karaoke with her. I'm actually quite jealous of Sakata and a couple of my other friends who have been with her. They get all the fun. I also have a cute little sticky picture of them with a more elderly and even cuter teacher. NOT FAIR! maybe if i was a grad student i could go and rock out with my teachers after classes. maybe next semester will fare better for me! wish me luck!

Oh, and two more weeks til the boyfriend comes to Japan and I can finally get some sex! WOOT!

i can't stop eating chocolate!! at this rate i'm either going to become morbidly obese or diabetic or both. on the bright side i eat more fruits and veggies and otherwise generally healthy stuff than ever (like tofu, whatever the hell that is..i'm still not sure...i understand what its made of about as much as i understand hot dogs or spam...). anyway, i had spare time and thought i'd write about my dietary failures...

..oh, and i think i was allergic to the medication i took or something!! i'm dying!! i'm pretty sure i shouldn't be able to see my pulse in my neck, but lo and behold... T-T

I'M GOING TO DIE IN JAPAN AFTER ALL!!

by the way, being sick in a foreign country blows. like, totally blows. as in $20 crack whore aching for a hot meal blows. i guess the bright side is that these masks seem to be stylin' here...woot. oh, and my healthcare's dirt cheap! not only do i only pay about 80 bucks for 6 month's worth of healthcare, but the doctor visit (including testing for the flu, which it wasn't), and 3 different kinds of medicine altogether totalled about 25 bucks. Woot! Anyway, I'm all better now, but here's a lovely picture of the week-long sickness that preceded my good health =d

- Strawberry Sex

BAHHH! I spilled delicious cappuccino all over my new laptop! Now some of the keys work sporatically, and at some points none work at all. I got a warranty on it, but I don't know how to go about fulfilling it while I'm in Japan. What sucks is that I could send it home and entrust the process to my parents, but I don't trust my parents. I'm also not sure if they'd send it back, or if I'd trust the postal service to get it here safely. The last package they sent was busted all to hell on the outside. What to do!?!? I'm thinking back to my friend Batman who I'm pretty sure took his mac to an Apple store in Tokyo, but I'm not sure. I'm backing up all my music and photos on CDs to be safe, but I don't know what to do. Sure, I suppose I could live without a laptop for 8 more months, but I really don't want to. The computers in the lounge hate me, and access to them is limited a lot of the time. Plus, all the system messages are in fucking Japanese, and I'm not qutie to the point that I want to be trying to read an error message in a foreign language. Hell no. Any suggestions?

P.S.: 3.5 more weeks until my boyfriend comes to Japan and I can finally stop lusting after hot Japanese boys! Well, I probably won't stop lusting, but, y'know, not having the hot Asian boys will hurt less with access to my own personal week-long sexpot. Woot!
